Borgia Suite

Known by this name ever since a then the Pope Alexander VI (1431-1503) from the celebrated Borgia family slept here, the magic atmosphere of the 1500’s and papal colour scheme make this room unique with its renaissance floral carved bed posts and matching wardrobe. The magnificent deep red Murano chandelier, wall hangings and designer bathroom with sauna shower complete this intriguing room of intricate and ancient passions. It is said that the "Poet of Italy", Gabriele D'Annunzio, long a guest at the Castle in the twenties of the '900, has a special predilection for Borgia suite where he spent nights of" unbridled passion of love "in good company of the famous theatre actress Eleonora Duse. About this  period so unique he wrote an ode dedicated to the Castle exquisite oil produced there. This room, strategically located in the most discreet position on the noble floor, is in the centre of the Castle and gives onto a large terrace.  Go to the second part of the text
